About us

The Paritätische Freiwilligendienste Sachsen gGmbH is an accredited voluntary services agency. We are an associated company of the Paritätischer Wohlfahrtsverband Sachsen - one of the largest welfare associations, which has about 500 member institutions in Saxony.

We offer and organize non-profit voluntary work for people of all ages and with a variety of interests. No matter whether you want to go for a voluntary social or ecological project, part or full time, just around the corner or abroad: do not hesitate to contact us. Together we’ll find out what fits you best.

What exactly is a “Freiwilligendienst” in Germany?

A “Freiwilligendienst” (voluntary service) consists of part or full-time voluntary work and an educational programme over a limited period of time between 6 and 18 months. It is performed in a social or ecological institution hand in hand with an accredited voluntary services agency like us. During your voluntary service you receive a pocket money, as this form of voluntary commitment is being promoted by German government.

Voluntary services have been developed for educational purposes and are therefore being constantly supervised by our educational staff. They also serve the public welfare as well as promoting international understanding.

Many young Germans use the opportunity of voluntary work as a period of time-out and career orientation after school. In doing so, voluntary programmes also offer striking opportunities to develop yourself and find your own way.
